KDF Unveils List of 670 Newly Hired Employees & Reporting Date, How to Check

The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) on Tuesday, February 14, unveiled a list of 672 youth recruited to join the military in civilian ranks.

KDF's Director of Human Resource Management and Development published names of successful candidates following a recruitment exercise held between September and October 2022.

The successful youth were subsequently asked to report to the Ministry of Defence (MOD) headquarters at Ulinzi House along Lenana Road, Nairobi, on varying dates.

"The process of selection of candidates is complete. Successful candidates are hereby advised to report on the dates and time indicated against their names," the notice read in part.

The reporting dates range between February 27, 2023, and March 16, 2023.

Among those recruited include 200 senior support staff, 100 tailors, 100 vehicle mechanics, 70 clerical officers, 50 motor vehicle technicians, 50 cooks, and 10 waiters.

The military also hired 15 building electricians, 13 general fitters, 15 welders, 10 carpenters, 15 plumbers,  eight panel-beaters, eight spray painters, four aircraft surface technicians and four safety equipment technicians.

Nonetheless, KDF cautioned the new recruits to be wary of con artists aiming to make money from the recruitment exercise.

"Candidates should not give money to anybody purporting to be in a position to help whatsoever. Avoid being conned. Any corruption report should be made via email: publicaffairs(at)mod(dot)go(dot)ke," the press release read in part.
