KEBS Changes Deadline on Mass Recruitment Drive; How to Apply

The Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) extended its application window by one week, inviting more Kenyans to fill vacancies at the government agency. 

In a notice dated Wednesday, February 15, the quality assurance agency settled on Thursday, February 23, as the deadline for sending in the applications as opposed to the initial Wednesday, February 15. 

The agency announced that it was seeking qualified individuals to fill up to 108 vacant positions ranging from security officers, administration officers, quality assurance officers and inspection officers.

Other positions included principal office administrator, legal officers, supply chain officers, accountants, market surveillance officers, laboratory analysts, metrology officers, certification officers and standards officers.

Market surveillance officers recorded the highest vacancy rate with 23 positions, followed by laboratory analysts at 14, quality assurance officers (at 14), standard officers (10) and assistant technicians in the testing laboratory (10).

Applicants now have until Thursday at 5:00 pm.

How to Apply

Interested candidates were advised to submit their applications in soft copy via email through recruitment(at)kebs.org

Alternatively, candidates can make their applications in the hard copy sent by post or hand at the office's headquarters in Nairobi.

The parcel should be addressed to the Managing Director and ought to indicate the vacancy name on the envelope and should be submitted by the stipulated deadline. 

The candidates were advised to attach a cover letter, a detailed Curriculum Vitae with full details on their educational background, professional qualifications and relevant experience with copies of testimonials, academic certificates and a National Identification card.

The bureau affirmed that only shortlisted candidates would be contacted. In addition, academic qualifications of external origin were required by a recognition and equation certificate from the relevant body of Kenya.

All degree applicants for engineering-related qualifications must be registered as graduate engineers. Persons with disability and suitable female candidates were encouraged to apply.
