Radio Africa's Programme Controller Quits After 14 Years, Set to Return to Australia

Radio Africa Group's Group Program Controller Peter Sinclair resigned from his position on Thursday, March 9, after serving for 14 years.

According to a statement from the media house's COO Martin Khafafa, Programmes Controller Peter Sinclair, an Aussie, intends to return to Australia after diligently serving the company.

He was praised for helping the group maintain leadership in the radio segment by ensuring four of its slate of radio stations consistently ranked in the six top spots for over 10 years.

Additionally, the COO acknowledged Sinclair's exemplary service and contribution to Radio Africa Group.

"He will be transitioning over the next four months as he hands over to the various program controllers. We take this opportunity to wish him well in his future endeavors," Khafafa stated.

At Radio Africa, he was in charge of overseeing listener research, content development, format structure, marketing and promotions, and talent coaching for the five diverse radio stations making up the group.

Before joining Radio Africa in 2008, he was the Program Director at Global Radio in Norfolk where he oversaw program and marketing activity at 9 Gcap radio station from Norwich to Bournemouth.

Sinclair has worked as a music director, program consultant, and program director on different radio stations.

He went to Belmont High in Western Australia between 1965 to 1970.

Radio Africa Group consists of six national radio stations, one TV station, and a national newspaper including Kiss 100, Classic 105, Radio Jambo, Smooth Fm, East FM, Smooth, the Star newspaper, and Kiss TV.

Several renowned presenters have worked at Radio Arica Group including, Sheila Kwamboka, Maina Kageni, Joseph Oyoo aka ‘Gidi’, Jacob ‘Ghost’ Mulee, and Kamene Goro among others.
