This was one of the heartwarming moments amid the chaos that brought activities in the Nairobi Metropolitan area to a complete standstill for hours.

Notably, a fully armed anti-riot police officer became an online sensation after he escorted a pupil to school at the height of the running battles.

The officer was commended by Kenyans as well as the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) who shared his photo with the caption, "Thank you for your service officer."

A second officer also made headlines after he engaged protesters from Raila Odinga's Kibra home ground, where crowds did not back down from challenging officers.

The officer ordered the men to sit down but questioned one on how he would benefit from engaging in the mass action.

"In 2007, on whose side was Martha Karua? Whom did Ruto support? In the event that Ruto and Raila shake hands, will you have school fees to take your child to school?" The officer posed.

Furthermore, the officer asked the protesters to stop pelting stones at the officer because he would be forced to defend himself which would result in a loss for himself and the protesters.

In Kisumu, Odinga's backyard, a police officer was caught on camera consoling a protester who was weeping uncontrollably after his arrest.

" How did you get here and where is your home? Do not worry, we will take you home," the officer remarked as he patted the protester's head.
