Ndung'u is set to be vetted by the county assembly on Thursday, April 6.

According to the notice, the vetting of other nominees will be done on April 5 and April 6, and thereafter the reports will be tabled before the House for approval.

Before his nomination, Ndung'u worked as a Saturday Nation editor. He was a specialised political and parliamentary affairs editor.

Ndung'u also served as Nation Media's regional editor based in Nyeri.

The three discussed various political topics and even helped to debunk misinformation in the run up to the August 2022 General Election.

If approved, Ndung'u would join a list of journalists hired by various county governments.

Tharaka Nithi Governor Muthomi Njuki appointed former NTV reporter Kennedy Murithi to take up the position of Political Advisor.
