Kameme FM presenter and pastor Muthee Kiengei was treated to a surprise by a colleague with a Ksh195,000 microphone on Friday, April 7.
In a statement, Kiengei detailed that fellow radio presenter Muthoni Wa Kirumba, popularly known as Baby Top, surprised him with the equipment and added, "May God bless you."
Kiengei noted that the gift moved him to tears of joy while appreciating the trust and faith that Wa Kirumba has in him.
"If someone can invest her Ksh195K for you, this should bring tears and happiness at the same time," the presenter remarked.
"This has caught me by surprise. This is a very expensive microphone to be used by someone like me," he added.
The kind gesture was well received by his fans who lauded Wa Kirumba for being a good friend and professional in her job.
On the vernacular radio station, Wa Kirumba hosts the Canjamuka show from 10 am to 1 pm while Muthee Kiengei hosts the Kameme Breakfast Show.
Besides his work at the Media Max-owned vernacular radio and TV stations, Kiengei is a pastor under Jesus Christ Compassion Ministries.
He is also an MC for various social events and founded Kiengei Live Media. In January, he defended his Ksh300,000 rate card and warned others not to destroy his brand.
"If you cannot afford someone's services, I would advise you to work with your services," he added.
Meanwhile, some of the features of the microphone include up to 100 metres of range, a battery life of at least eight hours as well as easy and flexible wireless synchronisation between transmitter and receiver via infrared.
