Renowned artiste and businesswoman Esther Akoth, popularly known as Akothee, tied the knot with her husband, Dennis Schweizer, nicknamed Omosh at a grand wedding held at Windsor Golf Hotel in Nairobi.
The event was filled with pomp and colour as guests arrived in style to the invite-only ceremony.
Some of the guests who graced the occasion include Gender Cabinet Secretary Aisha Jumwa, Kisumu First Lady Dorothy Nyong'o, Migori First Lady Agnes Ayacko, lawyer Patrick Lumumba and Timothy Kimani alias Njugush.
Others on the guest list were Citizen TV's Lilian Muli, media personalities Alex Mwakideu, Janet Mbugua and Dr. Ofweneke, the mcee of the day, and East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) MP Suleiman Shahbal.
Lang'ata lawmaker Phelix Odiwuor alias Jalang'o drove Akothee to the location in his sleek Mercedes Benz.
The theme of the wedding was white with a touch of gold and reports indicated that guests were prohibited from wearing the white colour.
A white chariot for two and pulled by two horses was part of Akothee's big day after previous false starts.
The scenery also envisaged an ecstatic feeling as she walked down the aisle in her Haute Couture Atelier gown, which according to Akothee, gobbled around Ksh700,000.
The gown was also laced with Swarovski crystals to exude an elegant vibe.
Dr. Ofweneke, the mcee of the day kept the guests entertained together with a band that played a harmonious jazz sound while the bride proceeded to the podium.
Security was tight and restricted access was maintained owing to the high-profile guests who graced the occasion.
CS Jumwa affirmed that she was honoured to grace the event. She, however, was cagey to reveal her gift to the musician, with her signature short hair.
"I'm so happy for Akothee. I would want to inform her that it is her day and that she should not be afraid. She is a good friend of mine and is a champion for the girl child. Being the CS for Gender I need to give her support," she stated.
