Nandi Senator Samson Cheragei, on Tuesday, April 11, clarified that he used fake photos of President William Ruto's cows figuratively after he was fact-checked and trolled by Kenyans on social media.

In his initial post, the lawmaker had announced that Ruto's cows had given birth to triplets - a sign of his success as the Head of State.

Consequently, he also posted a photo of a cow with three calves.

"Ruto cow gives birth to triplets of his symbolic leadership. Five years of backfilling the debt hole created by Former President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga into economic transformation.

"Five years for economic stability. Five years of Kenya's prosperity of milk and honey and 15 years of uninterrupted economic transformation," he stated

However, fact-checkers established that the photo of the cows was taken by a family at a farm in Germany.

In his clarification, he noted that the photo was not meant to mislead the public but was used figuratively to enhance his post and paint a picture of Ruto's leadership.

"Kenyans on Twitter (KOT) should learn a figurative language! If KOT were hardworking the way they have googled the cow and calves' picture, then we would be the first world economy!" he clarified.

Kenyans had trolled him for misleading the public. Further, the post went viral after he hinted that the President would serve for 15 years.

Online users had called for the senator to be investigated and penalised for misleading the public.

"The chairman of Senate Comte on justice is faking photos and concocting stories. With friends like these, Ruto needs no enemies. Senator, you've abrogated the Public Officers Ethics Act," Former Mukurweini MP Kabando Wa Kabando stated.

KOT is always here to remind you that there are no more people to lie to," Evans Richard echoed.
