Gospel Musician Rish Kamunge on Wednesday, April 12 narrated being robbed of Ksh120,000 in the Nairobi Central Business District (CBD) given to her by her father to start a business.

While appearing on Jeff Kuria Show, she recalled losing her laptop, phone, house keys, and Ksh120,000 among other valuables to the 80-year-old lady who was in the company of a second suspect.

Kamunge detailed that her father had travelled to Nairobi to give her the money and after their meeting, she headed for the stage to catch a bus to Ruiru.

While waiting for the bus minutes past 8 pm, she noted the duo who approached her asking for directions.

"I was raised to have discipline and help the elderly, when they asked for help I offered it only for me to wake up near the railway stage without my belongings," she recalled.

She was left stranded at 10 pm forcing her to seek help from a trader on the road who guided her back to the stage.

"I was very confused, it was at night and I did not know where I was. When I got home I had to break down the lock to access my house," she stated.

The musician noted that the incident left her traumatised to visit the CBD again before she began sharing her story online.

"My friends told me to go the hospital where the doctor told me that the suspects used a drug on me to make me lose consciousness. He gave me some medication to revert the effects," she added.

However, her content was not well received by others as she started receiving threats from unknown people who asked her to delete the content.

"I usually thought some of the stories I hear about people being conned in town were fake, but now I believe them. One came to me and told me to be careful of people pretending to be nail artists," she detailed.

She urged Kenyans to be cautious while carrying out their businesses in town to avoid being conned.

This is one of the tactics used by fraudsters to rob Kenyans. Others include pretending to drop an envelope of money to lure unsuspecting individuals.
