Kirinyaga Chief of Staff Rita Oyier on Sunday, April 16, penned a heartfelt birthday message to Governor Ann Waiguru celebrating her for her leadership skills and excellence in her work.

Oyier stated that Waiguru, who doubles up as the chairperson of Council of the Council of Governors nurtured those who worked with her into becoming their best versions, adding that she was overly cautious and a strategic leader.

She described the former Devolution Cabinet Secretary who is serving her second term as county chief, as an understanding leader with a passion to make real change.

“Those who have worked with you for many years say that she is brilliant, a perfectionist, overly cautious, too intelligent and highly strategic.

“They always conclude, if you work with her we know you are the best because she has a nose for excellence,” she stated.

Oyier also revealed that aside from her professional duties, the governor loved cooking including baking, grilling meat and chicken.

“Many may not understand that you grill the most amazing meat or make such delicious chicken. Maybe one day I will get to taste your own baked cakes and pastry,” she added.

The chief of staff stated that she admired Waiguru’s passion to serve adding that she enjoyed her laughter and the jokes she told to her employees.

“Both Your forthrightness and passion to make real change for as many citizens as you possibly can in your lifetime is admirable to me as your understudy.

“Your deliberateness, determination and restraint are a magical combination. But what I enjoy the most is your laughter and jokes,” Oyier added.

The aide asked Waiguru to write a book about her life to inspire and educate other women in society.

“You are such a warm spirit, a prayerful woman, and yes how you mother, you should write that book.

“That book's time has come. It will be a life manual for every young woman, every corporate woman, every political woman, every mother and every wife and every prayerful woman,” noted Oyier.
