A viral video clip of the controversial preacher Paul Mackenzie advising his congregants from all walks of life not to follow him resurfaced on Tuesday, April 25.

The one-and-half-minute video recorded Mackenzie offering a piece of advice to his believers who were enthusiastic about his Good News International church in Kilifi County.

Speaking to the media after the relations of shadowy activities, which culminated in the discovery of more than 80 graves at Shakahola forest, Mackenzie warned the faithful against following him since he had nowhere to take them.

"I'm now a follower of Christ, and just like me - follow Christ. Please do not follow Pastor Mackenzie since I do not have anywhere to take you," Mackenzie claimed in March 2023.

The controversial pastor claimed that he heard a voice commanding him to shut the doors of his church.

"I closed the Church in August 2019, and as you can see right here, there is nothing in this building that used to be the church.

"I promise never to re-open the Ministry, and I'm therefore saying goodbye to everyone who was interested in this Church," he claimed.

In a well-planned press conference, Mackenzie told journalists that he had completed his work in Kilifi and had entirely moved to another assignment which he did not disclose to the members of the public.

On the question of the Shakahola massacre, he equally requested government agencies to prioritise the matter and independently conduct investigations without fear or favour.

Mackenzie alleged that unknown figures sought to tarnish his reputation in relation to the dead bodies exhumed inside Shakahola forest.

“Let DCI do thorough investigations and if I have no crime, let them not do what they did to me last time. I’ve reported that someone in Nairobi has tarnished my name that I’m killing and burying people," the pastor stated when he was arrested amid public outcry in April 2023.

While responding to claims that his TV station was closed by the government for spreading false teachings, Mackenzie maintained his theory of receiving a spiritual encounter.

“It wasn’t the government that closed down my ministry or TV station. I heard the Lord’s voice that told me that my nine years’ ministry and prophecy on end times was over.

"I was commanded to tell my followers that by December 2019, the TV would shut down for good. It was hard to accept but that was Lord’s voice,” he noted.
