The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), on Saturday, May 13, launched a manhunt for suspects who robbed a Nakuru-based Gospel radio station live on air.
The robbery, on May 11, was captured on camera and streamed on Facebook.
According to the DCI, the quartet made away with eight mobile phones, over Ksh35,000 in cash, and eight pairs of shoes.
They were also accused of damaging five cameras at the studio.
The detectives added that the suspects also manhandled staff who were not only suspected of terror but trauma.
"Concealing their faces using balaclavas, the thugs interrupted the live Kigocho broadcast featuring gospel musician Robert Kiarie.
"Armed with a firearm and machetes, they ordered the presenters to lie down before they ransacked their pockets for money and other valuables. One of them ordered two shocked presenters, a man and a woman, to lie on the floor," DCI recalled.
Detectives based in Nakuru County appealed for information from the public to aid in apprehending the suspects.
“The thugs escaped by jumping over the establishment’s perimeter, located in Nakuru’s posh Milimani suburbs,” the DCI reported.
In the chilling three-minute video, one of the men with a rifle walked around with a machete, while another had a riffle.
The duo kept checking the entrance in case they were ambushed during the raid.
