“It’s so unfair seeing people steal people's things. This thing needs to be stopped.

“They have actually forgotten the driver who is up there trying to get a hold of himself,” stated one of the witnesses.

In the clip, tens of individuals, including motorists from vehicles packed nearby, are seen taking cartons of sodas and running away to store them before returning for more.

The looters were oblivious to the danger that the fuel that leaked from the trailer tank underbelly posed.

Despite warnings by onlookers about the dangers of moving towards an overturned trailer, the looters threw caution to the wind and continued with the looting spree.

They disregarded the danger they were putting themselves in considering previous accidents that have led to loss of life due to the trailers exploding.

The driver of the ill-fated trailer was lucky to walk out of the cabin with minor injuries considering the impact of the mishap.

Moreover, the accident brought about a heavy traffic snarl-up in the usually busy road hence inconveniencing many motorists.

Due to the rising cases of accidents in Kenya, the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) on May 8, launched a country-wide crackdown on motor vehicles violating traffic laws.

"All public service vehicles and commercial vehicles (tare weight of 3049Kgs and above) must operate with functional speed limiters," NTSA stated.
