President William Ruto on Friday, May 19, sent a stern warning to his friends and allies holding government positions.

Speaking at a funeral service in Murang'a County, the Head of State declared that he will deal with all those misusing government positions for their own gain.

He also assured members of the public that their money was safe in the hands of the government.

"I have told my friends and those who are not allies. We should continue with our job but must protect the money collected from Kenyans," Ruto stated.

Ruto noted that the instruments of power given to him during the inauguration accorded him the right to punish those misusing government offices and disadvantaging Kenyans.

"No one will steal money collected from Kenyans as taxes. I shall not allow money Kenyans earned with their sweat to be misused.

"I have no other obligations, I will deal with you," the President affirmed.

The Head of State further emphasised that he will personally take accountability for the use of resources in the country to ensure Kenyans get value for their money.

"I will not be a President who talks a lot but I want to assure Kenyans that I will take personal responsibility for the accountability of the resources of the people of Kenya," he stated.

Furthermore, Ruto vowed to support pending projects in the region, pledging over Ksh300 million for different projects.

He was joined by other leaders for the funeral of former Kandara Member of Parliament David Waweru, father to Dagoretti South MP John 'KJ' Kiarie.

While on Wednesday, May, 17 KEBS Managing Director Bernard Njiriani and 26 other employees were fired over the distribution of contaminated sugar.
