President William Ruto, on Friday, May 26, promoted several officers in the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) after consultation with Defence Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale.
Ruto promoted Major General Fatuma Gaiti Ahmed to Senior Directing Staff Air and posted her to the National Defence College.
"His Excellency Dr.Willian Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander In Chief of the Defence Forces has today, on the advice of the Defence Council chaired by Hon Aden Duale Cabinet Secretary for Defence made the following promotions, postings, and appointments," read part of the statement signed by Bogita Ongeri, Director Public Communications Ministry of Defence.
Promotions and Appointments
Brigadier Dennis Nyaga Njue Kamuri was promoted to Maj Gen and appointed Managing Director of Kenya Ordnance Factories Corporation.
Brigadier Mohamed Nur Hassan was promoted to Maj Gen and appointed General Officer Commanding Border Security Command.
Colonel Sylvester Kipkorir Chirchir was promoted to Brig and appointed Deputy Director Directorate of National Security Industries.
Colonel Mathew Lilita Lenamunai was promoted to Brig and appointed Commander Kahawa Garrison.
Colonel Joseph Kaku Mutua was promoted to Brig and appointed Commandant Construction Engineers Brigade.
Colonel Gilliad Mwachala Kimonge was promoted to Brig and appointed Chief of Operations, Defence Headquarters
Colonel Titus Gitamo Sokobe was promoted to Brig and appointed Chief of Infrastructure Defence Headquarters.
Colonel Omari Mohammed Rajab was promoted to Brig and appointed Deputy Managing Director of Kenya Ordnance Factories Corporation.
Colonel Peter Kipketer Limo was promoted to Brig and deployed as Managing Director Defence Forces Canteen Organization.
Colonel Oscar Kizito Muleyi was promoted to Brig and appointed Director of the Centre for Security and Strategic Studies National Defence University - Kenya
Colonel Oswald Oduor Opiyo was promoted to Brig and remains Director of Uhuru Gardens National Monument and Museum
Colonel Roba Bonaya Wario was promoted to Brig and deployed to the Office of the National Security Advisor.
Posting and Appointments
Major General Rashid Abdi Elmi was posted to National Defence College and appointed Commandant.
Major General John Maison Nkoimo was posted to Kenya Military Academy and appointed Commandant.
Major General Eric Mbugua Kinuthia was posted to Joint Command and Staff College and appointed Commandant.
Major General Charles Muriu Kahariri was appointed Deputy Commandant and Senior Directing Staff Navy, National Defence College.
Major General Fatuma Gaiti Ahmed was posted to National Defence College and appointed Senior Directing Staff Air.
"Other changes have also been made across the Kenya Defence Forces in line with the advice of the Defence Council," read part of the statement.
