Suna East MP Junet Mohamed resurfaced, on Tuesday, June 6, during a parliamentary proceeding after nearly a one-month hiatus.

The vocal Azimio La Umoja lawmaker missed key House sessions and opposition rallies, raising speculations on his whereabouts.

Immediately after he was allowed to address his colleagues, Junet claimed that he surfaced at the invite of his rival and the National Assembly Majority Leader, Kimani Ichung'wah.

“I heard the majority leader say that he prayed for my comeback. This is one of the prayers I know was not accepted," Junet trolled Ichung'wah, who also serves as Kikuyu MP.

“He just called me. He never prayed. He then asked me to attend this session to discuss house business,” Junet tickled his colleagues.

Ichung'wah had earlier claimed that he prayed for Mohamed's safe return to the Parliament, hinting that he may have travelled abroad for personal reasons.

“I have been praying for Junet to show up again in Parliament and I am happy he is here today,” stated the Leader of Majority

Taking a cue from Ichung'wah's presentation, National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula invited Junet to the floor to clear the air over his absence.

Nyandarua Woman Representative Faith Gitau, excited about the Suna East MP's return, hinted that the prayers from his colleagues guided his journey back.

“We want to thank God that today we sit here with Junet, who has been away from us for long. Because of the prayers, God brought Junet to us today,” Gitau averred.

The leaders invited Mohamed to the National Prayer Breakfast event on Wednesday, June 7. However, Junet missed the event after Raila and his entourage declined invites

“Azimio la Umoja one Kenya coalition party wishes to confirm that its leaders received an invitation to the National Prayer Breakfast at the Safari Park Hotel tomorrow, 7th June 2023.

"We believe the times require that as a country, we should approach our Creator and the Protector of our nation with honesty and humility and also talk to our people truthfully, frankly and boldly on the issues facing the nation today,” read the Azimio statement.
