All interested bidders are required to pay a refundable deposit of Ksh10,000 per lot, while those for machinery and plant equipment will part with a deposit in cash of Ksh20,000. Those interested in scrap metal will pay Ksh50,000, and bidders seeking miscellaneous items will be charged Ksh5,000.

Payments should be made to the NYS preferred account, and the bidder should provide the bank slip to the respective field office (branch) to get a bidding number.

NYS warned that individuals without bidding numbers will not be permitted to participate in the auction.

Unsuccessful bidders will have their deposits refunded, unlike the successful ones, who will sign an agreement authorising the money to be deducted from the overall purchase price.

"The successful bidder shall pay 25 per cent of the purchase price within 24 hours and the balance paid within 14 days in the National Youth Service Account," read part of the statement.
