KAA Announces 3-Day Used Cars Auction; How to Bid

The Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) on Tuesday announced an auction of various items including cars as the agency seeks to dispose of several properties in its inventory.

In a statement, the agency listed the items including; used motor vehicles, furniture, extinguisher cylinders, used computers and ICT equipment, general electro-mechanical parts, and general building hardware materials.

The agency announced that interested Kenyans can view these items from Tuesday, September 12 to Thursday, September 14. 

Instructively, the auction itself will take place from Thursday, September 14 to Saturday, September 16.

The auction will be presided over by Keysian Auctioneers at various airports across the country.

The main auction event will be held at KAA headquarters on Friday.

Away from Nairobi, the auction will also be held at the Eldoret International Airport (Thursday), Wilson Airport (Friday), and Moi International Airport (Saturday).

Items from additional airports, including Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, Malindi Airport, Ukunda Airstrip, Wajir Airport, and Lokichoggio Airport, will also be available for auction.

How to Bid
Interested bidders are required to pay a deposit of Ksh25,000 per item on auction.

"All interested purchasers are requested to view the items as per the dates shown and verify their respective details as these are not warranted by either the Auctioneers nor KAA as the items are being offered for sale are "As-is-where-is" basis," read part of the statement.

All successful bidders will be required to pay 25 per cent of the total amount and clear the balance within 24 hours or the bid shall be canceled and the item sold to the second highest bidder.

In case the price is lower than the deposit price, the winning bidder shall be refunded the difference.

After the auction, the bidders will be required to collect the items within seven days from the date of the auction.

KAA will charge a storage fee of Ksh500 per day until collection. However, if the items are not collected within 14 days, the items will be forfeited to the authority.
