President William Ruto will be on a flight to Germany tonight, marking part of the over 35 trips he has made to over 45 cities globally.
Speaking at a Church Service in Bomet on Sunday, the Head of State explained that the German trip is aimed at fostering bilateral agreements between the two countries.
At the top of his agenda, the Head of State explained that he would pursue the over 200,000 opportunities German Chancellor Olaf Scholz promised Kenyans during his trip to Kenya in May.
The trip will succeed his recent visit to Saudi Arabia where he revealed that he secured 350,000 opportunities for the Kenyan workforce.
"I have agreed with Bore (Labour CS, Florence) that we will sign bilateral labour agreements so that we export labour from Kenya. We are targeting to export at least 3,000 Kenyans every week to go work worldwide and change their livelihoods," he stated.
"I was in Saudi Arabia last week. My CS was at the Saudi Arabia Embassy as we had agreed. The German (Chancellor) was in Kenya three months ago. Tonight, I am going to Germany because he (the German President) had promised us 200,000 jobs."
His trip, comes amidst criticism that the Head of State was spending exorbitantly on foreign travel despite the country's economy limping.
The Head of State, however, silenced his critics arguing that the trips were necessary to network, raise Kenya's profile on a global stage and secure opportunities for Kenyans.
"When I leave Kenya, I am not going as a tourist, I am going to work for the people of Kenya because I know my responsibilities," the Head of State explained.
In May, Scholz jetted into the country for a two-day visit roughly a month after Ruto held discussions with German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier in March.
"Kenya and Germany will prioritise the elimination of non-tariff barriers to reduce the costs of doing business and ease the movement of goods between the two countries," Ruto stated in March shortly after a meeting with Steinmeier.
In October, the Head of State revealed that over 2.1 million opportunities formed part of discussions between his administration and various other governments.
For instance, when he travelled to the United States, Ruto revealed that America had communicated its intentions to hire 250,000 Kenyans.
According to the Head of State, Canada also pledged a similar number of jobs.
