The Bomet groom whose wedding was canceled at the very last minute by his bride has broken his silence on what transpired including how his father-in-law broke the news to him.

Speaking to journalists, the groom explained the news has left him and his family heartbroken. He however stated that he has forgiven the lady despite breaking his heart and throwing him into a state of uncertainty.

According to the man, the father-in-law came to him a day before the wedding and informed him that the lady had a second man in her life and based on that fact alone, the wedding was not going to proceed.

"The wedding was stopped because the bride revealed she was in another relationship. I have left her to thrive in the life she has chosen," the man remarked.

He lauded the father-in-law for telling him the truth despite that being the hard option. He also wished his runaway bride a happy life with the other man.

The groom's mother condemned the young lady's behaviour maintaining that she should no longer be part of the family.

She claimed that the bride had complained about being too young to be married. The mother-in-law argued that the lady seemed happy when the wedding was announced only for her to change her mind at the last minute.

"She complained she was not ready and we agreed but I will not allow her to come here again since she claims to be young," the groom's mother added.

However, when speaking to the press on Sunday, the bride explained that the presiding pastor was the one who stopped the wedding since some crucial documents were missing.

She added that she was looking forward to the wedding before the abrupt changes. The bride remarked that she was waiting for the wedding to continue.

The bride also clarified that she was still at home and had not run away as assumed. She, however, did not address the allegations of her second relationship.

Notably, the incident left a section of Kenyans with more questions than answers with many wondering why the parties had to wait for the last minute to cancel the occasion after spending Ksh50,000.
