Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has promised to award a local Kamba musician a job during a church service in Kitui County.
Speaking at a church service in AIC Zombe Township, Kitui East, on Sunday, Gachagua promised to fulfill the promise of getting the musician, Faith Kithele, a job within 48 hours.
"Bring her on Tuesday to my office, we will find a spot for her," Gachagua stated after inquiring on whether she possessed a degree certificate.
The Gospel musician was introduced to the DP through Kitui East Member of Parliament Nimrod Mbai who pleaded with him to help the girl after being stranded over unemployment.
"We want to give you a pastor's daughter, not somebody full of politics, who will only sing praise songs, so you just put her somewhere," Mbai had requested.
The DP also promised to help the singer noting that the current regime has rewarded jobs to a lot of citizens from Kitui including Cabinet Secretary in the EAC, Arid and Semi-Arid Lands Ministry Peninah Malonza.
Faith Kithele is the daughter of Pastor Cyrus Kithele, the resident pastor of Destiny Life Church in Kitui.
According to Gachagua, the regime has been fair in distributing state jobs across the country regardless of voting patterns.
He, therefore, promised to help more residents from the Kitui region enjoy services from the President William Ruto-led administration.
Mbai further asked the DP to set up a proper institution to manage jobs in the region and galvanise leaders to work for the people.
According to the MP, leaders have been kept in the dark during major regional meetings and named Tourism CS Alfred Mutua as a slippery individual hard to engage.
"CS Mutua sometimes is slippery. Call (all leaders) starting with CS Peninah Malonza so that they safeguard us the way you have safeguarded them. These people have forgotten us" he decried.
