Speculations were rife on Wednesday after a popular Langata-based entertainment joint, 1824, was shut down.
Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, a source at the entertainment joint confirmed that the establishment was closed down owing to a dispute between the landlord and the owner.
However, the nature of the disagreement between the owner and the landlord was not revealed.
"Indeed, we have closed. There were some issues between the landlord and the owner," the source stated.
Earlier in the day, there was a heavy police presence at the establishment as workers removed chairs and tables.
Other sources at the club also indicated that the establishment would be reopened at another location in due course.
However, timelines for the reopening are yet to be known.
The management of the club is yet to issue notice to its revellers over their closure and their next course of action.
Club 1824 has been in the spotlight in recent months. In November 2022, police raided the entertainment joint in a crackdown on clubs located in residential areas within Nairobi.
The club had been accused by the county government of playing loud music past 10 pm.
On the other hand, the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) at one time investigated the source of funds used to set up the establishment in a case that is still active in court.
