In October, Nike honoured Eliud Kipchoge with a statue at its headquarters in Oregon, United States for his outstanding achievements throughout his career.
The statue features a wristband on the left hand with a note bearing Kipchoge’s famous quote “No human is limited”
“Nike revealed a statue of me at the headquarters in Beaverton. Thank you, Nike, for the great partnership, together we run as one,” Kipchoge stated ahead of the statue’s unveiling.
Nike also honored his legacy by naming a running track at its European Headquarters in the Netherlands after him.
In a statement, the athlete expressed gratitude to the company for their partnership that has since then seen him win two Olympic titles.
Kipchoge became the first athlete to run a marathon in under two hours in October 2019 in Vienna, Austria.
The Ineos 1:59 challenge was not an official race and was instead a calculated mock marathon designed to help the legendary athlete complete a marathon below two hours.
Over the year, Kipchoge also launched a wristwatch line, with the least expensive going for Ksh 37,000.
Meanwhile, all eyes are set on the 2024 Paris Olympics where he is expected to take on Kelvin Kiptum.
Kipchoge has vowed to win a gold medal at the tournament.
If he achieves this feat, he will be the second person on earth to win three gold Olympics back to back joining the ranks of sprinter Usain Bolt.
