A young girl was among 3 Kenyans who lost their lives on Monday evening following a tragic accident that occurred at Ndaragwa, Nyandarua County along the Nyahururu to Nyeri Road.
Eyewitnesses, who shared their accounts online, stated that a speeding driver, losing control, rammed into pedestrians on the road, leading to the fatal accident.
Following the accident, bystanders quickly rushed to the scene to aid the victims. Unfortunately, upon the arrival of first responders, the victims were pronounced dead.
Law enforcement officials later transported the deceased's bodies to the nearby morgue as police commenced investigations into the cause of the accident.
Kiriita Member of County Assembly (MCA) Milkah Wanjiru, who arrived at the scene moments after, condoled with the victims' families urging motorists to be cautious while driving.
"My condolences to the families, and may their souls rest in eternal peace. We urge the drivers to be vigilant on the roads as we pray for God’s protection," she stated.
Following the accident, the vehicle was seen damaged on one side. However, it was not immediately established whether the driver was arrested for causing the accident.
Commenting online, Kenyans urged drivers to avoid speeding and driving under the influence to curb road carnage and save lives.

During the festive season, numerous accidents have been reported across the country with over 10 people reported dead while others remain in critical condition.
The first day of 2024 was also marred with several accidents with Kenyans losing their lives and others left with life-threatening injuries.
For instance, 3 people lost their lives on Monday along the Nakuru-Eldoret Highway while 2 others sustained serious injuries after a personal car collided with a lorry.
Data from the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) revealed that between January and October 2023, at least 3,609 people lost their lives in road accidents.
According to the Authority, the leading causes of casualties on the road were overlapping, hit and runs, tyre bursts, vehicles losing control, and motorists failing to stick to their lanes leading to head-on collisions.
