Outgoing Chief Judiciary Registrar Anne Amadi revealed new intrigues in the Ksh102 million fake gold scandal she was linked to in May 2023.

Speaking during an interview on Tuesday, Amadi revealed that the gold scandal plotters aimed to oust her from office before her term ended.

According to Amadi, she discovered that her job and reputation were on the line after a petition for her removal was filed before the Judicial Service Commission (JSC).

She further maintained her innocence, adding that the JSC ascertained that the allegations were false and barred attempts to kick her out from the Judiciary.

While she deviated from naming the individuals she accused of plotting her ouster, Amadi disclosed that their identities would be revealed during mention in court.

"If the allegations were true, then I would have been removed, and I would not have finished my term. It was all lies. That is why I have insisted that I do not want this case done online. I want to know who my accusers are."

"I have never been involved in gold business, and I had already left the office they were alleging. It was all lies," she maintained.

Amadi, who is set to be replaced officially by the Judiciary following the end of her term, was accused of swindling a Dubai-based businessman Ksh102 million in a fake gold deal.

According to her accusers, she received the money through a law firm that was tasked with delivering the gold to the Dubai company. However, the gold was not delivered despite receiving the payments.

However, Amadi opposed the accusations and insisted that no money was wired into her account.

During the TV interview, Amadi also addressed reports that alleged that she would be seeking an elective office in the 2027 polls.

The outgoing registrar reiterated that she had no interest in politics and would use her retirement to relax and spend time with friends and family.

"I do not think that I can get into it. I cannot manage politics," she stated.
