Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale’s daughter Gift Atubukha Khalwale, is among the 7,708 girls who scored a B+ in the 2023 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams.
With this performance, the senator's daughter will be among the 201,133 candidates who earned direct entry to the University.
Atubukha was among the best performers of the KCSE 2023 from St Brigids Kiminini.
The legislator took to his X account (formerly Twitter) to congratulate his daughter and the support system that enabled her to attain the grade.
“Congratulations, Gift Atubukha Khalwale. I want to thank my family, the entire St Brigids High School -Kiminini fraternity, and above all, God for supporting my little Tubu to this milestone.”
Gift was among 903,260 candidates who sat for the 2023 KCSE.
The legislator had in 2019 congratulated the same daughter for passing her KCPE, scoring 396 marks out of the possible 500. This was in the wake of his wife's passing.
"When she was sitting her exam, is when we were burying her mother and we kept it away from her but she got to know because of the media. We are very happy that she did well," Khalwale stated in an earlier interview in 2019.

Some 448,899 female students sat for the KCSE 2023 exams, 49.91 per cent of the total number which is a clear improvement in the ratio of males to females as compared to the previous years.
The CS instructed that a board inquiry be set up to determine why 48,174 candidates scored an E in the examinations.
Parents and candidates were advised to access results from the KNEC portal a move from the traditional SMS method.
