A motorist residing in Nairobi has recalled how his late-night visit to drop off some essentials to his ailing sister on January 6 who was admitted at a hospital located along Ngong Road turned into a robbery that has left him shell-shocked to date.

Narrating his ordeal via his social media platforms, the motorist regretted how he was robbed near the hospital's gate at around 8.20 pm as security guards manning the facility watched without doing anything to help him.

The motorist explained that burglars broke into his car,  during which they assaulted him and stole assorted items from him including a laptop and 3 work hard drives among other electronics.

Unfortunately, all this while, no help was forthcoming.

"My car was broken into right at the entrance gate between 8:20 and 8:33, I was just dropping something off to my sister who had an emergency and had been admitted," stated the motorist in a Facebook post.

He would later learn that the security guards had declined to indulge claiming that they did not have any authority to launch a response.

Compounding on his woes was that the guards, brushed him off insisting that that theft near the hospital was a daily occurrence that they did not necessarily see as a pressing matter, given the prevalence of this particular type of crime.

Following the ordeal he reported the matter to the Kilimani Police Station, the matter was booked but to his shock, the law enforcement officers still dismissed him and asked him to book an appointment for the next day.

"I requested the police to at least do dusting for fingerprints, but one officer said l should go home and return the next day," he clarified.

However, on returning to the station on January 7, the authorities dismissed him again adding that his car could not be dusted for fingerprints as he had already left the scene of the crime.

"I told the cops that night while at the scene that they should handle everything, including fingerprints, but they only took pictures," he stated.

He did not give up, and returned to the same station on January 8, for a follow-up, but on his end, there was no urgency by the authorities to look into his case.

Bogged down by the turn of events, he turned to the hospital management, requesting CCTV footage, but all was in vain as he was again dismissed after being given a 'fishy' story.
