Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka has revealed that he will sue Defence Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale over what he termed as misrepresentation of facts in the latter's book, For The Record.

Speaking during an interview on Spice FM, Kalonzo claimed that Duale's account of a visit by former President Uhuru Kenyatta and his successor, William Ruto to his house was not factual.

The former Vice President maintained that he had never told the duo (Uhuru and Ruto) that they would be jailed at the Hague as claimed by Duale.

Kalonzo wondered why the CS could attribute the sentiments to him yet he was not present at the meeting.

According to Kalonzo, the meeting at his house was planned by politician Jimi Wanjigi as they sought to broker a deal and lineup ahead of the 2013 elections.

"Out of that, I have heard stories saying that I said that when the two of them (Uhuru and Ruto) go to jail at the Hague, then I will take over. Can you imagine? What Vice President or human being would tell a suffering duo that when you go to jail, I will come and help you? That is why I am suing Duale.

"He has written a book on that chapter and he was not there. It is a very interesting suit against Duale because he wrote things he does not know. Therefore, I recommend Kenyans to read my book," he stated.

However, Kalonzo did not reveal when the suit would be filed in court. The exact charges against the CS were also not detailed.

Duale has previously referred to the meeting at Kalonzo's home. According to the CS, Kalonzo was to be the presidential candidate with Uhuru as his running mate.

Ruto was to be the majority leader with each taking 33 per cent of government. However, according to both Duale and Ruto's accounts, Kalonzo's alleged remarks on the duo being jailed made the deal fall apart.

Instructively, Duale has previously during an interview with Spice FM on May 11, 2023, confirmed that he was not present at the meeting. He however claimed that the sequence of events during the meetup was relayed to him by Ruto and Kalonzo himself.

"Kalonzo is very casual in his talk and Kalonzo said 'I am a senior counsel and both of you are not lawyers, your case is not that bad'.

"He told them when they came back, he would hand it over to them. That infuriated the former President (Uhuru) and he walked out to go to the gazebo," he stated.
