Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka on Sunday, March 10, remarked that he would not be part of President William Ruto’s government despite a recent truce between the opposition and the Head of State.

While appearing at an interview on Inooro TV, Kalonzo explained that reports of a National Dialogue Committee (NADCO) handshake government were unfounded.

The former vice president stated that NADCO had prepared a framework for stability in the country but that did not mean the opposition was eyeing a piece of government.

“There is no NADCO government because there is a lot to be done. Without that, there can be no working together,” he explained.

“I do not want to be in the government. I am ready to be in the opposition to fight for Kenyans.”

Kalonzo explained that his vision at the moment was to protest against Ruto’s government with the aim of unseating the fifth president of Kenya.

The Wiper Leader was wary that Raila and Ruto may have different agreements that did not align with his political vision.

He explained that he had prepared the NADCO report and that should Raila and Ruto not oversee its implementation he would not stand to be blamed.

“I have given them the NADCO report and if they (Raila and Ruto) destroy it, it is up to them,” he explained.

He recognised the fact that it was Raila and Ruto who came up with the idea of creating a dialogue committee and entrusted him to co-chair the team alongside National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichungw’ah.

Kalonzo reiterated his previous remarks that there was no need to subject the 8 Bills created by the NADCO committee through public participation.

His argument was that the Bills came about from proposals by Kenyans and as such there was no need for a second public participation.
