Police officers based at Karuri Police Station, Kiambu County on Saturday, March 16, revealed that content creator Brian Chira was a victim of a hit and run.

A police report indicated that at the time of the accident, the content creator was inebriated having spent Friday night at a popular resort in Kiambu.

Police officers revealed that the young man died at around 03;10 am on Saturday morning after an accident along the Ndenderu-Ruaka road in the Gacharage area.

“It happened that they were coming from a resort at Gacharage area where he (the adult male friend) had passed while on his way to his house,” the redacted police report read in part.

At the time, Chira was being kicked out of the resort by security guards because of being drunk and disorderly.

Chira requested the friend to give him a lift home and they both boarded a motorcycle in the wee hours of Saturday morning.

“They both boarded the motorcycle and upon reaching Gacharage roundabout, Chira requested to be taken to his house,” police spoke of the final moments.

After they passed the service lane towards Ruaka bit heading towards Ndenderu on the wrong side, Chira alighted and ran to the main road.

“The friend then followed him for he was drunk and before he could reach him, he was hit by a white canter which did not stop,” it was explained of the time Chira breathed his last.

Police officers arrived at the scene and took Chira's body to the City Mortuary awaiting postmortem.

Investigations to trace the driver of the white canter are underway.
