Monica Kimani’s Father, Bishop Paul Ngarama, has revealed that he is opposed to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP's) plan to appeal the ruling made on his daughter's case involving former Citizen TV news anchor Jacque Maribe.

Speaking during an interview with the Kenya Diaspora Media in the USA, the Bishop stated that he did not wish to see the case in the corridors of justice again as it had dragged on long enough.

He also confirmed that he was satisfied with the ruling made stating that it was a confirmation of what he had expected.

The Bishop requested that the case end with the journalist’s acquittal, without further appeal stating that six years was a long enough period.

“For us, we do not want that matter to go to court again, that is our request. A person like me I do not want to see them in the court and the media again,” stated Ngarama.

Additionally Ngarama, also mentioned that he was hitching a plan to engage Jacque Maribe’s family and Jowie Irungu’s family and reunite them.

“The parents I can tell them, especially Jowie Irungu's Family, I think this is a season where you are experiencing pain even more because your son is alive, but let us set an example through forgiveness,” stated Ngarama

He noted that he had forgiven Jowie Irungu and was ready to rebuild bridges including visiting him in prison.

Further, the Bishop revealed that the loss of his daughter had negatively affected his family, especially his wife who eventually chose to keep off social media.

Bishop Ngarama also noted that he was able to cope with the loss after moving to the USA where he pursued further studies.

He revealed that he undertook a course in Counselling Psychology, which has been instrumental in helping him cope with the death and forgive Jowie.

While Monica’s family has expressed satisfaction with the ruling on Jacque Maribe's acquittal, Jowie Irungu’s family stated that they believe the decision was erroneous maintaining that their kin was innocent.

Jowie Irungu's legal team has since filed a notice of appeal.
