Two Missing Children Found Dead Inside House in Githurai

Police on Thursday, April 4 recovered the bodies of two children reported missing inside a house in the Mwihoko area in Githurai, Nairobi County.

According to a police report obtained by Kenyans.co.ke, a neighbour reported a foul smell emanating from the house and made a call to the police. 

“Police officers from Mwihoko and Githurai Kimbo police stations led by SCPC Githurai and SCCIO Githurai visited the scene, the door which was locked using a padlock was broken into,” the police report seen by Kenyans.co.ke reads in part.

Inside, were the decomposing bodies of the kids, one stuffed in a bag and another wrapped in a bedsheet under the sink with strangulation materials around their necks.

According to Githurai OCPD Pius Mwanthi, the two children were reported days ago, while the father has since gone missing. 

“The tenant was reported missing together with his two kids namely aged 10 years and 1 year 6 months vide Githurai Kimbo police station and was last seen entering the said house with the kids but no one saw them leaving,” the report adds. 

The police have launched a manhunt for the children’s father, who is the main suspect in the case. He is on the run and has not been seen since the missing report was filed with the police. 

The scene was processed and documented by CSI  Thika to gather evidence to aid in the investigation. 

The two bodies were later transferred to the city mortuary awaiting autopsy. 

In another incident, police are investigating the death of a Bungoma headteacher, who was found murdered and tied up inside his house. 

According to the victim's family, the incident was a suspected love triangle dispute gone wrong, after police arrested a woman found in the house. 

The wife, mourning her husband, termed him as a caring and helpful person, requesting the authorities to expedite the investigations and bring to justice the perpetrators.
