Second Lady Dorcas Rigathi has praised a couple that tied the knot on Saturday shortly after graduating from her Boy Child rehabilitation program.

Simon Kihara and Fidellis Njeri exchanged their vows during a colourful ceremony at the PCEA Raiyani Church in Githunguri, Kiambu County.

Rigathi expressed her pleasure at the event noting that her programme was reaping fruit of grooming boys to become family men instead of wasting away in drug and substance addiction.

“There is a royal wedding in the village, and a royal man and daughter are getting married. I am a very proud mother today, and this has been my prayer since we said we are going for the boy child as we rehabilitate them and they become what they have become. We want men to become real men, and to have families,” she stated at the event.

She further observed that should the rehabilitation programme not been rolled out on time, the wedding would not have been possible.

“Now imagine, if this man did not get out of addiction, who would have married this beautiful girl?” she asked the congregation.

“Our community rehabilitation has started to bear fruit. As we see this couple standing here, every mother, parent, and village is happy. This is now saving a generation. And satan is jealous of this man, and would like to destroy this man because he is the seed carrier. If this man is dead or in the gutter, the woman will not get a husband, and that means, this woman cannot give birth. And this is the tragedy of what is happening in the country. We must be very careful."

Kihara and Njeri were rehabilitated from alcohol and drugs under the community-based rehabilitation Boy Child Program associated with the Office of the Spouse of the Deputy President (OSDP).

Since Pastor Dorcas came into office, through the Boy Child Program, she has rehabilitated thousands through inpatient, outpatient and community-based rehabilitation.

Under her program, some men have been enrolled back to university, admitted to colleges, got jobs in the rehabilitation industry, and families reunited among other success stories.

Although the Boy Child Program incorporates the male gender, in unique cases, women are also accommodated to ensure strong and stable families in the country.
