“It happened at around 4:00 am around the Lusaka roundabout on Uhuru Highway,” she noted.

“The police station is not far from the accident scene. That is where we knew he was a police officer at Gigiri.”

In another Saturday morning accident, a police officer was killed while several other passengers sustained injuries, after the vehicle they were travelling in crashed.

The accident, which happened along the Marsabit-Moyale highway, rolled multiple times before coming to a stop in a nearby thicket in the Kambi Nyoka area.

Among the injured were three police officers, who received first-aid at the scene before being moved to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The deceased officer was driving the vehicle at the time of the accident.
