Several people were injured on Sunday after an accident occurred along the Nairobi-Naivasha highway after two vehicles collided.

One vehicle involved belonged to the Classic Luxury Shuttle, while the other was a Noah.

The Classic Luxury Shuttle was stated to have passengers on board, as the SACCO plies the route between Nairobi and Western Kenya.

However, witnesses at the scene have retained that both vehicles were passenger vehicles.

In the Sunday afternoon accident, eyewitnesses confirmed that there were several casualties with eyewitnesses having requested assistance to get the victims to hospital.

However, there is no confirmed number of individuals who may have lost their lives.

Witnesses who were the first at the scene of the accident requested assistance to aid the victims who were seen to be lying on the road.

"Kindly we need emergency response ambulance because passengers are lying on the ground, and they need urgent help," one witness appealed.

Photos seen by Kenyans.co.ke depicted both vehicles in damaged state with their fronts significantly deformed, underscoring the impact of the accident.

An official statement was yet to be released at the time of the publishing this article

Additionally, the cause of the accident was yet to be determined.

The accident comes a few hours after a gospel musician, Wilberforce Musyoka was involved in an accident on Saturday evening.

His vehicle collided with another car which was ferrying the director of a popular restaurant in Makueni.
