Ababu Namwamba Accuses ODM of Being Behind Leadership Wrangles at LPK

Labour Party of Kenya (LPK) party leader Ababu Namwamba, who is also the Budalangi MP, on Thursday made a rather surprise statement on his relationship with the ODM party.

Namwamba accused ODM of being behind the troubles facing his current party, even likening the Orange Party to an ex-lover who has refused to move on.

"As a party, we have absolutely no time for juvenile antics by political amateurs acting at the behest of some bitter ex (ODM) that has simply refused to move on. We tell you that we moved on. Move on too, otherwise if you don't that bile will kill you," the LPK party leader stated.

The Budalangi MP added that ODM had declined to move on after his resignation from the party, claiming they had been behind the confusion at the LPK leadership.

The comments came a few days after the Political Party's Dispute Tribunal ordered Namwamba's membership and party leadership suspended until a petition challenging his status is heard and determined.

Namwamba took over leadership of the LPK party in September 2016 after ditching ODM and resigning as the Secretary General of the party.

The matter of his suspension will be heard on March 9.
