Billionaire Zedekiah Bundotich Kiprop Buzeki's Sources of Wealth with Link to President Uhuru Kenyatta

Uasin Gishu Governor aspirant, Zedekiah Bundotich Kiprop alias Buzeki has an established business link to President Uhuru Kenyatta through his company Buzeki Dairy Limited.

Brookside Dairies, that is owned by the Kenyatta family, purchased a Sh1.1 Billion stake in Buzeki Dairy - that owns the Molo Milk Brand - in 2013, effectively becoming the majority shareholder.

The businessman is the Group Executive Director and Founder of the Buzeki Group of Companies which brings together businesses in the transport and dairy industries.

The conglomerate comprises of: Buzeki Enterprises Limited (Transport Solutions Provider), Buzeki Dairy Limited (Milk Processing & Distribution), Bunoil Limited (Fuel & Oil Dealership), Koima Motors Limited (Sale of Heavy Vehicles & Spare Parts), Transtruckers Logistics Group Limited (General Supplies Sourcing & Distribution), Buzeki Insurance Limited (Insurance Agency) and Buzeki Fleet System Management (LimitedGPS Fleet Tracking Service Provider).

The newcomer to politics claims that his business acumen makes him fit to lead Uasin Gishu county.

"I own 3,000 trucks, three choppers, over 1,000 cars and several businesses. I will pay my workers better than you [Governor Jackson Mandago] pay county workers," he asserted during a past campaign rally.

Former executive director at Kenya Institute of Management David Muturi, however, suggests that the accomplished businessman is set for a challenge if he gets into elective office.

"There’s going to be a culture shock. In private sector, things move faster due to clarity of roles. In government, you’re not driven by profits and you need a lot of consultation with stakeholders," he outlined.
