Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto Claims His Departure to Opposition Caused Nomination Failure in Jubilee

Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto has claimed that the misery that bedevilled the Jubilee nomination primaries on Friday was as a result of his departure from the party.

Speaking to his Chama Cha Mashinani (CCM) supporters in Bomet Stadium after a heroic welcome after joining the National Super Alliance (NASA), Governor Ruto stated that his exit spelled doom for Jubilee.

Ruto added that he had all the ideas and plans for Jubilee to succeed and when he departed and joined NASA as its fifth principal, the party went haywire.

“The confusion in Jubilee is as a result of my departure. I am the one who has all the ideas and plans to succeed. It will be an uphill task to penetrate and sell its candidates in the coming polls,” said Ruto.

He blasted the ruling party for the shambolic nomination exercise it carried out on Friday and reiterated that Jubilee had failed.

The governor pointed out that the failed primaries countrywide was a clear indicator that the Jubilee leadership cannot be trusted to deliver free and fair election.

“Jubilee is not able to conduct its own primaries. How can we trust it to guarantee Kenyans a free and fair election?” Posed Ruto.

The Jubilee Party was on Friday forced to cancel all nominations primaries countrywide and announced that the exercise would begin afresh next week.

Jubilee Secretary General Raphael Tuju stated that the party would release a new schedule for the exercise on Saturday adding that new ballot papers were in the process of being printed.
