Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto Fails to Attend CORD's Meeting at Bomas of Kenya

Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto failed to turn up for CORD's meeting that took place on Wednesday at the Bomas of Kenya despite being an avid supporter of the National Super Alliance (NASA).

Leaders from the Opposition, who were expecting him to be present, kept mentioning his Chama Cha Mashinani Party (CCM) during the meeting but unfortunately, none of representatives from Ruto's party was present.

The Governor's action will come as a surprise to Opposition leaders Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka, Moses Wetangula and Musalia Mudavadi after he had indicated willingness to join NASA that is expected to send the ruling coalition home.

KANU Chairman and Baringo Senator Gideon Moi also failed to attend the meeting, but was represented by the Party's Secretary General Nick Salat.

Meanwhile, all Opposition leaders Odinga, Musyoka, Mudavadi and Wetangula have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to work together in their bid to defeat President Uhuru Kenyatta in the August 8 Election.

The Opposition also called off the mass protests that that had been planned to protest the new elections laws signed by President Kenyatta.

The leaders announced that in light of the mass registration drive announced by the IEBC, they would be directing their efforts towards mobilisation of new voters.
