Chinese Man Perfects the Art of Kiswahili Speaking

News of foreigners learning and perfecting Kiswahili language has sparked conversation on social media after a Chinese man was featured on NTV speaking more fluent Kiswahili than most Kenyans.

30 year old Luis Dulyn says he took up Kiswahili because he found Africa “breathtaking”.

He represents a rapidly growing number of foreigners learning the language as the world's interest in Africa continues to heighten.

The continent has become the center of scramble of sorts as countries from both East and West of Africa invest in technology, industry and agriculture.

Some countries have gone as far as introducing African local languages as courses in formal learning institutions.

Four universities on Beijing have introduced Kiswahili as part of their curriculum.
