CORD to Launch Massive Political Movement to Beat Uhuru

The Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) has announced a plan that is finally set to assure them of victory against President Uhuru Kenyatta in the August 8 elections.

CORD stated that it would launch the National Super Alliance (NASA) during its Wednesday meeting which is set to bring together a number of Opposition leaders.

Speaking at Bomas of Kenya, which will be the venue of the meeting, Siaya Senator James Orengo and Tongaren MP Eseli Simiyu said that the country should expect the formation of a “massive Opposition movement” which would bring down the Jubilee government in the upcoming polls.

“For about six months we have been speaking about Opposition unity. On Wednesday, we are going to take a stand once and for all,” said Orengo.

The Senator indicated that the meeting would be the start of a new political course whose aim would be to beat President Kenyatta in the polls.

The Opposition leaders added that the forum would be used to deliberate on the contentious electoral laws that were passed by both the Senate and the National Assembly.

They further added that during the conference, they would rally aspirants for various posts to mobilise their supporters to register as voters in the new exercise set for January 16.

Last week, the Coalition invited all its delegates and aspirants for the meeting after the controversial elections were passed by Parliament.

At the time, the Coalition indicated that the Bomas of Kenya forum would be used to decide on the way forward regarding the controversial laws.
