CORD Leaders Refuse to Name Leader Mentioned in Double Talk Accusations by Obama

CORD leaders have refuted claims that their meeting with US President Barrack Obama was filled with tongue lashing from the US leader.

The leaders say that the meeting should not be reduced to one statement as is currently being done.

They refused to name the person mentioned by Obama when he claimed that the individual was criticizing the current government, yet he had asked the US government to keep off the Kenyan government when he had been in the administration.

During a meeting with civil society members at Kenyatta University on Sunday, Obama took a swipe at the opposition by reiterating that the jubilee government had been elected legally, and that they should give the government their support.

Kenyans on social media continued to speculate that the said individual could be Raila Odinga.

This follows a statement he made in 2009 when he was prime minister, asking the West to stop ‘lecturing’ Africans on governance issues.

Narc Kenya party leader Martha Karua also took to twitter to defend their meeting with Obama, saying that their mandate as opposition leaders was to keep the government in check.

Led by Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka, Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang'ula and Karua the leaders issued a statement today at Capitol Hill, saying they had presented key issues of their referendum to Obama.

According to The Star, they said they will continue to push for good governance by the Jubilee administration.

Sycophancy will not help build a better Kenya but constructive criticism will and that's the role opposition will continue to play
