Daring Gangs Hit Supermarket and Restaurant, Escape With Thousands

Saturday saw shoppers at a supermarket in Muthaiga and customers of a popular restaurant in Hurlinghum, loose thousands of shillings at the hands of robbers.

A five man gang posing as customers held clients at gun point at the supermarket making away with Sh 300,000.

The Saturday night incident left customers at a loss trying to explain the dread of being threatened with guns.

The Standard reports that the gang made their escape using a hijacked saloon car outside the premise.

The car was found abandoned in Kilimani.

Elsewhere in Hurlinghum a different five man gang also posing as customers at a well known restaurant, robbed patrons of more than Sh 250,000.

Witnesses say the well coordinated incident happened within minutes.

The robbers fled on foot thereafter.

No one was injured in both incidences.

Both robberies left Nairobi residents complaining of the rising cases of insecurity in the city.

They are asking the County Government to ensure all establishments have adequate security.

Investigations into both robberies have began.
