Education Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiangi Fears Losing His Job If Jubilee Loses in August Poll

Education Cabinet Secretary Fred Mating’i has expressed fear of losing his job if President Uhuru Kenyatta is not re-elected in the upcoming election.

While addressing youth in the Kisii region, Dr Matiang'i  urged the locals to vote for the Jubilee government so that he would continue working in the Government.

''What we want to stress to you is that if you don't vote for Uhuru's re-election, then it will mean that we also lose our jobs,” stated Matiang’i, who was accompanied by Youth Enterprise Fund Chief Executive Josiah Moriasi stated.

The Education CS added that if the Opposition took power from the Jubilee government then he and other key figures in the region would lose their mission to promote development in the region.

"Do you want to sack me before I accomplish more for the community and the nation? It's very simple to do that: just wake up on August 8, go and vote for the Opposition. You shall have sent me home by so doing," he highlighted.

Meanwhile, President Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto on Tuesday began a tour of Kisii and Nyamira Counties.

Uhuru will launch projects in Nyamira and hold rallies at Magwagwa, Ikonge, Ekerenyo, Nyamira, Nyambaria and Nyansiongo.

On Wednesday, Uhuru and Ruto will direct their campaign trails to Kisii County.

Both Kisii and Nyamira counties are considered Opposition strongholds.
