The quack doctor Mugo wa Wairimu was a nursing student at the University of Nairobi (UoN).
Mugo is confirmed to have graduated from the UoN on November 27, 2000 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
According to the Academic Registrar department records, Mugo wa Wairimu was admitted to the School of Nursing at the university in 1996, Citizen TV reports.
However, the Nursing Council of Kenya on Tuesday said that Mugo, who is accused of sedating and raping patients at his clinic in Githurai, did not follow the Council's procedure outlined for one to be registered as a qualified nurse.
The Kenya Medical and Dentist Practitioners Board has also confirmed that the nurse on the run is not in their database.
“He can be a graduate in Nursing but what we know is that he is not registered and his clinic has not been certified by authorities to render services as per the law,” said Were Onyino, an official at the board.

According to NTV, the dubious doctor may have worked at the Chiromo Mortury in 1996 if a blog suspected to be written by him is anything to go by.
In the blog post, he recalls making a fortune after selling a luxury casket to an unintended buyer and even chopping the legs of a body in order to fit in the coffin.
Meanwhile, other reports indicate that a team of investigators from the Criminal Investigative Department, has officially taken over the case of the fake doctor Mugo wa Wairimu who was exposed on national television, allegedly taking advantage of a woman in his clinic.
The team led by detective John Kariuki, has urged Kenyans to be patient as thourough investigations into the matter were being carried out.
Kariuki asked members of the public with any information that would be helpful in the probe to come out, assuring them of sufficient protection.
Mugo wa Wairimu is yet to be arrested.
