Gideon Moi Reveals The Only Condition for Him to Support Ruto

Baringo Senator Gideon Moi on Wednesday disclosed the reason behind what has been termed by many as bad blood between him and Deputy President William Ruto.

Speaking during a fundraiser at Bartolimo in Baringo County, Moi noted that the rift was not personal but based on the unfulfilled promises the DP had made to his people.

The former President Daniel Moi's son highlighted that the only way he could be in the same vehicle with DP Ruto would be when development projects in his region were accomplished.

Moi made the remarks after Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen urged him to dismiss KANU and join Jubilee Party.

"If you come and say we have constructed these roads and given the youth jobs, I promise you Murkomen we will be in the same vehicle with William Ruto. However, get it from me, even if you come to Baringo with ten helicopters and several senators, people of this county have made up their minds.

"Murkomen openly told me at the Senate building that he was Ruto's sycophant, his statement really shocked me, given that our role as elected leaders is to serve the interests of the people not an individual," he said.

During the meeting, Murkomen critised Moi asking him to be content with staying behind Ruto and respect him.

"I plead with you Gideon if you want to reach the top there is an example your father left of respecting those in leadership. Respect William Ruto like your brother and stay behind him," Murkomen noted.
