Gor Mahia Coach Frank Nuttall Reinstated

Gor Mahia Football club has finally caved in to pressure from the fans and reinstated coach Frank Nutall less than 48 hours after parting ways with the Champions.

The club announced the decision on its official Facebook page saying that Nutall would be joining the team in Mombasa on Saturday ahead of the DSTV Super Cup match against Bandari FC.

The 47-year-old Scott had been fired by the club after he was accused of giving extravagant demands leading to a fall out with the team's management.

Through a letter circulated to media houses and social media on Thursday, Nuttall confirmed that the club had sacked him after he declined to take a pay cut.

“The executive committee of Gor Mahia has terminated my contract today. The club wanted to reduce my salary by 50% whereas my contract provides for a 10% of my salary from January 2016,” he said.

In a press release signed by the club's Assistant Secretary General Ronald Ngala, Gor Mahia refuted the earlier allegations by Nutall stating: “That statement (Nutall's) is inaccurate and it is important that we put the record straight”.

According to the statement from the 2015 Kenya Premier League Champions, Nuttall demanded for a salary of Sh770,000, a house allowance of Sh250,000, a sturdy 4-wheel vehicle, numerous out of pocket allowances among others which the management couldn't afford.

However, the club had offered him several 3 bed-room fully furnished apartments in Kilimani at rents between Sh120,000 and Sh150,000 per month which he declined saying they were substandard.
