A General Service Unit officer (GSU) shocked residents of Mokowe village in Lamu after he shot dead his girlfriend before turning the gun on himself.
According to neighbours who rushed to the scene after hearing gunshots, the officer locked the house before committing the brutal act.
Area OCPD Zachary Kimani confirmed the incident and stated that they were yet to establish the motive of the killing.
“The officer killed his lover who had accompanied him to his house before killing himself,” Mr Kimani was quoted by Citizen Digital.
The two bodies were moved to Mpeketoni Sub-District Hospital Mortuary.
Still in the same county, Chief Mohamed Shee was on Friday butchered by unknown people just one week after being promoted to the position.
County Commissioner Joseph Kanyiri said investigations had been launched to know the killers.
