These are the City Roads Set to be Closed Down During Obama's Visit

The Police department in Nairobi, has announced the roads that the public will be restricted to access during US President Barack Obama’s visit to the country.

The roads that will be closed down on Friday from 2pm are Mombasa road, Uhuru highway, and Waiyaki way.

On Saturday, Thika road, Limuru road and Waiyaki way will be shut down when Presidents Uhuru Kenyatta and Obama will be attending the Global Entrepreneurship Summit at Gigiri, Nairobi.

Nairobi police commander Benson Kibue  asked motorists to use alternative routes such as the Southern by-pass, while those in the areas between Kikuyu and Westlands are advised to use James Gichuru road.

The much anticipated visit by the US President is set to cause interruptions on normal activity as security personnel enhance maximum security.

The US President is set to jet into the country on Friday for a three day visit.

He will be co-hosting, the Global Entrepreneurship Summit as well as hold bi-lateral talks with the Kenyan government.
