“Homosexuality Has No Place in Kenya,” DP Ruto

The government will not allow homosexuality in Kenya, as its position on the matter remains unchanged.

This is according to Deputy President William Ruto who has come out to add voice to the ongoing debate about the gay and lesbian community in the country.

Speaking during a church service at Jesus Winner Ministry in Kasarani on Sunday, the DP assured religious leaders of the government’s support in their stand against homosexuality.

He added that the government’s position is not one aimed at seeking popularity but rather to protect Kenya’s religious and cultural beliefs.

Ruto’s remarks come barely a week after the High Court ordered that the NGO's Coordination Board registers a gay and lesbian lobby group, despite an earlier refusal by the registration board.
